Sonchampak is the golden champak, Michelia champaca, the five-petalled flower that has been offered in Indian temples for thousands of years. Its fragrance is said to reach the gods before the flower itself does. This pendant is modelled on its exact form: five rounded gold petals cupped around a centre scattered with rose quartz, peridot, amethyst and aquamarine, each stone a different offering within the same sacred form. The champak blooms most intensely in heat, releasing its fragrance without being asked. This piece carries that same quality: radiant, unhesitating, completely itself.
