Setu is the Sanskrit word for bridge - the structure that connects two things that could not otherwise reach each other. Two gold vermeil arcs rise on either side of the finger, their forms separate and complete, joined at the centre by a continuous line of brilliant-cut white topazes. The bridge is not decorative. It is the whole meaning of the piece.
The double arc creates an architectural presence on the finger - open on each side, the space beneath the arcs as considered as the gold above. The white topazes at the centre hold their line with precision, the bridge of light connecting the two forms without diminishing either.
For the woman who understands that the most powerful structures are the ones that bring things together.
