An open oval of 925 sterling silver with 18K gold vermeil, its fluid outline shaped by movement rather than rigid geometry. Light passes through and around the form, the negative space as considered as the gold that holds it. Adhara is a star in Canis Major - one of the brightest in the sky, carrying the meaning of that which supports. The form earns it. Presence through restraint. Space as strength.
Adhara takes its name from one of the brightest stars in the southern sky - a name that carries the meaning of foundation, of that which supports without being seen to do so. The open oval holds that quality exactly. The gold outline defines a space rather than fills it, the fluid contour guided by organic movement rather than precision geometry.
The negative space is not absence. It is part of the design - light entering the oval and shifting as the piece moves, the suspended form creating dimension through what is not there as much as what is. At 6g the drop has genuine presence at the ear without heaviness.
No stone. The form is the whole intention.
